
In the beginning of the 90’s, she establishes the women’s ensemble Discantus, which is dedicated essentially to the earliest sacred vocal music. She also collaborates with the flutist Pierre Hamon to create and direct the vocal and instrumental group Alla francesca, dedicated to the performance of early secular repertoire up to the 15th century.
Brigitte Lesne also performs solo recitals, duos and trios, singing and playing harps, medieval hurdy-gurdy and percussions in love songs or women poetry. She would also sing traditional music (Sephardic…) and several composers dedicated her contemporary creations.
She could be heard in major international festivals in France, in Europe and worldwide, until Australia and New Zealand, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, the USA and Canada, Lebanon and Morocco … Having become a reference in the interpretation of mediaeval music, she released more than 30 CD’s.
She is regularly sharing her knowledge as an invited conductor in training programmes and master classes in music schools, Universities and she is also a teacher at the Centre de Musique Médiévale de Paris.
